Frequently Asked Questions

Do you help with any subjects other than reading?

Yes, I have students who I help with writing, spelling, and math.

Do you tutor students in person?

I have had such success with online tutoring that, for many reasons, I truly believe it is the better option for everyone involved. In the recent past, the quality and capability of online tutoring have grown so much that there are several ways to make online tutoring effective. In addition to that, parents save time when they don't need to travel and it is especially helpful for families of multiple children with busy schedules. Plus, when emergencies arrive, it is much easier to reschedule an online meeting than one that someone has already traveled to.

Do you work with children who have learning disabilities or special needs?

Yes! I have experience supporting children with a variety of learning needs, including dyslexia, ADHD, speech delays, and other challenges. My lessons are tailored to each child’s unique learning style and abilities to ensure they feel supported and successful.

How much do you charge?

$35 for a 30-minute once-a-week.

$60 for 30 minutes twice-a-week.

How do you pay?

I specialize in teaching young learners, starting as early as four years old, through elementary school students. My focus is on building foundational reading skills and confidence at each child’s unique pace.

What age groups do you tutor?

I specialize in teaching young learners, starting as early as four years old, through elementary school students. My focus is on building foundational reading skills and confidence at each child’s unique pace.

What makes your approach to reading instruction unique?

My teaching approach blends personalized instruction with playful, interactive games that capture kids’ attention. I also draw on my 15 years of classroom experience and my own childhood challenges with reading to create a supportive, confidence-building environment for each student.

How soon will I see results?

Every child progresses at their own pace, but many families notice improvements in confidence and reading ability within a few weeks of consistent tutoring. Some students have even reached their grade-level goals within a few months.
